UWAJIMA PROJECT, Co., Ltd. was founded in 2010 in Ehime, Japan, specializing in the processing and distribution of premium wild and farmed fish from the Uwa Sea.
We develop differentiated, value-added seafood products such as “Mikan Fish,” raised on feed blended with mandarin juice by-products that would otherwise be discarded. This innovative approach imparts a subtle citrus aroma to the flesh while reducing typical fish odor, creating a clean and refined eating experience of the fish.
Sustainability is central to our approach. In collaboration with partner aquaculture producers in the region, AI-powered automatic feeding systems were introduced in 2021. These systems analyze fish appetite in real time to optimize feed volume, helping reduce feed waste, lower environmental impact, and improve operational efficiency throughout the supply chain.
We are committed to responsible aquaculture practices, efficient resource use, and long-term ocean stewardship. UWAJIMA PROJECT supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Life Below Water, through practical and data-driven sustainability initiatives.
